Let me introduce you to the two main characters of a Children Book of mine entitled "The Little Girl and The Rat".
When I made this character design, I wanted this image to be also an introduction to the story.
I also wanted the type design to represent a way to follow the little girl in her adventures (like breadcrumbs in the French story “The little Poucet”, for who knows ).
In English the translation of the text would be: “My little Rat slept like a log, so I got into his dream…”
The story of the book set in the dreamlike World of the two main characters.
During the travel, landscapes and inhabitants seem to be not as strange and frightening as expected...
A tale about the difference and the fear of grow up.
